Your Moroccan adventure begins! Upon arrival in Tangier, your guide will greet you at the port or airport and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax. Settle in and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this legendary port city.
After breakfast, your journey to Chefchaouen begins. We will drive into the majestic Rif Mountains, where the route offers breathtaking panoramic views. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, the afternoon is free to explore this beautiful blue and white city at your own pace. You will spend the night in a local Riad or Hotel, immersing yourself in the city’s tranquil atmosphere.
This morning, we depart for Fez. Our route winds through charming villages in the Rif Mountains. Our first stop is Volubilis, an impressive archaeological site with the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. Afterwards, we head to the imperial city of Meknes. Here, we will visit the famous Bab el-Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail tombs. After lunch, we continue our journey, arriving in Fez to spend the night in a Riad within the medina.
Today, an expert local guide will lead you through Fez, Morocco’s oldest and most cultural city. You will stroll through its intricate alleys, visiting key landmarks. Highlights include the Royal Palace gate, the historic Jewish quarter (Mellah), and the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest in the region. You will also visit the famous Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. Tonight, you’ll stay again in the medina, immersed in the city’s authentic atmosphere.
Today’s journey takes us through varied and spectacular landscapes. We will first pass through Ifrane, a charming resort town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we drive through the impressive Middle Atlas Mountains. You will spend the morning enjoying beautiful cedar forests and picturesque Berber villages.
We will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils. In the afternoon, we continue towards the desert through the lush Ziz Valley. We’ll arrive in Merzouga in the evening and check into a hotel near the breathtaking dunes of Erg Chebbi.
After breakfast, we will explore the fascinating Merzouga region. First, we visit the Gnawa people in Khamlia village to experience their traditional music. Then, we meet nomadic families to see their authentic Berber lifestyle.
For lunch, you will enjoy a traditional Berber pizza. Later, your guided camel ride awaits. You’ll ride for about 90 minutes to a desert camp set among the highest sand dunes. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset and gaze at the bright stars. Dinner will be served at the camp.
Your camel guide will wake you early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. You’ll appreciate the unique beauty of Erg Chebbi as its colors shift with the morning light. After breakfast back at the Riad, we depart for the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.
After lunch in the heart of the canyon, we will drive through the picturesque Dades Valley. Here you will see majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey fingers.” We will spend the night in a traditional guesthouse, enjoying dinner and warm Berber hospitality.
Our journey continues towards Marrakech, with a pivotal stop at the legendary Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. This UNESCO World Heritage site is an ancient fortified village that has served as a stunning backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring this historic masterpiece, we will ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, navigating the dramatic and scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass. By late afternoon, we will arrive in the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech and settle into your traditional Riad for the night.
Today we embark on a refreshing day trip to the Atlantic coast. We’ll travel to the charming, windswept city of Essaouira, a historic port with a bohemian soul. You’ll have time to explore its UNESCO-listed medina, walk along the ancient sea ramparts (the Skala de la Ville), and watch the vibrant blue boats in the bustling fishing harbor. After soaking up the relaxed coastal atmosphere, we will return to the energy of Marrakech for the evening.
A full day is dedicated to immersing yourself in the magic of Marrakech. A guided tour will lead you through the city’s heart, starting with the electric atmosphere of Djemaa el-Fna square. We will delve into the labyrinthine souks, visit the opulent Bahia Palace, discover the historic Saadian Tombs, and admire the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. This is a day of sensory discovery in one of the world’s most captivating cities.
Our journey turns north today as we head for Morocco’s capital. Along the way, we will stop in Casablanca to marvel at the Hassan II Mosque. It is an architectural masterpiece of incredible scale and beauty, sitting dramatically on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. After our visit, we will continue to the elegant city of Rabat for our overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will explore the highlights of Rabat, including the historic Kasbah of the Udayas and the grand Hassan Tower. We then continue our drive up the coast, making a delightful stop in Asilah. This is a beautiful, white-washed seaside town famous for its art-filled medina. After a short visit, we will complete our circuit, arriving back in Tangier where your unforgettable Moroccan adventure concludes with a transfer to the port or airport for your departure.
