Your Moroccan adventure begins upon collection from the Casablanca airport or your accommodation. Should time permit, you’ll catch a glimpse of the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. From there, we journey north to Morocco’s capital, Rabat, to explore key landmarks like the historic Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Afterward, the route continues towards the imperial city of Meknes before concluding in Fes. You will settle into your traditional Riad for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will be greeted by your expert local guide for an immersive journey into Fes el-Bali, the ancient walled Medina and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This guided tour will delve into the city’s rich heritage as you wind through its labyrinthine alleys. The tour will guide you to the Royal Palace gates, the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and the intricate architecture of the Medersas. You will also view the famous Tanneries from a terrace and immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of the traditional souks before returning to your Riad.
The adventure pushes southward after breakfast as we travel towards the Sahara Desert. The journey winds through Ifrane, often called “Morocco’s Switzerland,” before entering the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. Here, near Azrou, you’ll have the chance to encounter wild Barbary macaque monkeys. Next, we proceed towards Midelt, a region known for its apple orchards. Subsequently, the landscape dramatically shifts as you travel through the picturesque Ziz Valley, renowned for its vast palm groves and fortified villages (ksars). The route then passes through Erfoud before finally reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, where you will stay for the night.
Today is devoted to an exploration of the captivating landscapes around Erg Chebbi aboard a rugged 4×4. Your excursion will take you to the seasonal Lake of Merzouga and then to Khamlia village, where you can listen to the hypnotic rhythms of traditional Gnawa music. A special highlight is sharing tea with a nomadic Berber family to learn about their enduring lifestyle. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a camel caravan into the heart of the dunes. After witnessing a breathtaking sunset, you will arrive at your desert camp for a traditional dinner under the stars.
Greet the day with a spectacular Sahara sunrise—a truly unforgettable moment. After breakfast at the camp, you will ride your camels (or take a 4×4) back to the edge of the desert. From there, we depart for the Dades Valley. If it is a market day, we may pause to explore the bustling souk in Rissani. The journey continues through Erfoud and Jorf, leading to the stunning Todra Gorges. Here, you can enjoy a scenic walk between the towering canyon walls before we proceed to the beautiful Dades Valley for the night.
Our path today follows the legendary “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” The journey takes you through the lush Skoura Oasis, with its beautiful palm groves and historic kasbahs, and on to Ouarzazate, the cinematic hub known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” The day’s ultimate destination is the renowned Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site featured in films like “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.” After exploring this historic village, you will begin the spectacular drive to Marrakech, navigating the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass. The day concludes as you are escorted to your accommodation in Marrakech.
After breakfast, your local guide will lead an in-depth tour of Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City.” The day will center on the historic Medina, where you’ll visit iconic landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior), the Saadian Tombs, and the exquisite Bahia Palace. You’ll also plunge into the lively energy of Djemaa el Fna square and its surrounding souks. Depending on the tour’s arrangements, the itinerary might also include the famous Majorelle Garden or Menara Gardens. You will spend the night in Marrakech.
Your Moroccan adventure concludes today. Following breakfast at your accommodation, and in accordance with your flight schedule, you will be escorted to Marrakech Menara Airport for your departure.
