Your journey begins in the late afternoon, around 5:30 pm. First, we set off on a scenic 30-minute camel ride. Your guide will lead you into the heart of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon reaching our destination, you will dismount. The stop is near the base of Merzouga’s tallest dunes, just a short 80-meter walk away.
From here, you have a wonderful choice. For the adventurous, a brief 10-minute climb to the summit is an option. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking, panoramic views. Alternatively, you can simply find a peaceful spot to watch the sun begin its spectacular descent. See the desert landscape transform before your eyes. The sky will ignite in fiery hues of orange and purple, casting long shadows across the sand.
After the sun dips below the horizon, our peaceful trek back begins. We will return to the village under an enchanting twilight sky. Furthermore, this excursion includes a fascinating stop at a local garden. Here, you will learn about the ancient canal system. This brilliant irrigation method has sustained desert life for centuries.
