    10-Day Desert Tour from Casablanca

    Day 1: Casablanca → Marrakech

Your Moroccan adventure begins upon arrival at Casablanca airport, where your private driver will greet you. From there, you will be whisked away to Marrakech, the famous “Red City,” named for its beautiful rose-hued architecture. After checking into your accommodation, your introduction to Morocco’s magic starts as evening descends. You’ll immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of Djemaa El-Fna square, a vibrant tapestry of storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and sizzling food stalls. Settle in for the night in a traditional riad or hotel nestled within the ancient medina.

Day 2: Guided Marrakech city tour

Following breakfast, an expert local guide will unveil the secrets of Marrakech. Your guided tour delves into the city’s rich history, leading you to iconic landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior view), the lavish Bahia Palace, and the historic Saadian Tombs. Next, you will plunge into the sensory labyrinth of the souks within the old medina, discovering a world of traditional crafts and exotic spices. The tour returns to Djemaa El-Fna, allowing you to witness its fascinating daytime transformation. Your evening concludes back at your riad or hotel.

Day 3: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate

Today, your journey takes you south, ascending into the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m). A fascinating detour leads you to the historic Telouet Kasbah, once the powerful seat of the Glaoui clan. As you descend, the landscape shifts beautifully, passing through traditional Berber villages. After lunch at a mountainside restaurant, the route continues along the picturesque Ounila Valley to the magnificent Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. You’ll explore this iconic UNESCO World Heritage site, a famous cinematic backdrop, before continuing to Ouarzazate for the night.

Day 4: Ouarzazate → Skoura → Rose Valley → Dades Valley

The adventure continues towards the spectacular Dades Valley. Your first stop is the serene Skoura Oasis, a lush palm grove where you’ll visit the beautifully preserved Kasbah Amerhidil. The journey then takes you through Kelaa M’Gouna, the heart of the Rose Valley, famous for its annual floral festival and fragrant products. After enjoying lunch en route, you will proceed to Boumalne Dades. Here, you will enter the stunning Dades Valley, renowned for its dramatic landscapes and unique “monkey fingers” rock formations. Your accommodation for the night will be a hotel or kasbah nestled in this captivating valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga desert

After breakfast, you’ll depart the Dades Valley for Tinghir to explore the colossal Todra Gorge. Take a moment to walk along the riverbed, dwarfed by the towering canyon walls that soar hundreds of meters high. The journey then pushes on towards the Sahara, passing through Tinjdad and Erfoud, a region known for its rich fossil deposits. Upon reaching the edge of the Merzouga desert, you will trade your vehicle for a camel, embarking on a memorable trek into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Witness a breathtaking sunset, savor a traditional dinner under a blanket of stars, and enjoy Berber music by a campfire before retiring to your private tent in a desert camp.

Day 6: Merzouga desert → Ziz Valley → Midelt

Awake early to experience the unforgettable magic of a desert sunrise painting the Erg Chebbi dunes in brilliant colors. After this serene moment, you will ride your camel back to a hotel at the dune line for a well-deserved breakfast and shower. Your journey then turns north towards Midelt. You’ll travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, a vast oasis of palm groves dotted with fortified villages (ksars). Your destination is Midelt, a quiet town nestled in the Middle Atlas foothills, known for its apple orchards. You’ll spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 7: Midelt → Azrou Cedar Forest → Fes

Departing Midelt after breakfast, your route crosses the Middle Atlas Mountains towards Fes. Along the way, you will pass through Ifrane, a charming town often called “Morocco’s Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. A highlight of the drive is a stop in the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you will have the chance to see wild Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. You will arrive in Fes in the afternoon and check into your accommodation, with the remainder of the day at your leisure.

    Day 8: Fes city tour

Today is devoted to exploring Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city and its spiritual and cultural epicenter. With a local guide, you will dive into the wonders of Fes el-Bali (Old Medina), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your tour will include the magnificent gates of the Royal Palace, the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), the famous Tanneries (viewed from a terrace), and architectural gems like the Bou Inania Medersa and the Nejjarine Fountain. You will also see the exterior of the revered Kairaouine Mosque & University before visiting a local ceramic cooperative. In the late afternoon, enjoy free time to get lost in the medina’s enchanting, maze-like streets.

    Day 9: Fes → Casablanca

After breakfast, you will bid farewell to Fes and begin the drive west back to Casablanca. As Morocco’s primary commercial hub, the city presents a modern contrast to the ancient towns you’ve visited. Time permitting upon arrival, you will visit the spectacular Hassan II Mosque. This architectural masterpiece, one of the largest mosques in the world, is famed for its intricate details and stunning location extending over the Atlantic Ocean. You will then check into your hotel for your final night in Morocco.

    Day 10: Casablanca airport

Following a final breakfast at your hotel, your driver will transfer you to Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport at the appropriate time for your departure flight. This concludes your memorable 10-day journey through the heart of Morocco.
