Upon your arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city, your journey begins. First, you will be transferred to your hotel to settle in after your trip. If time permits, you can take an optional tour of the impressive Hassan II Mosque. This architectural marvel is uniquely situated facing the ocean. Furthermore, it is one of the few mosques in the country open to non-Muslim visitors.
In the evening, you will have free time. You can choose to stroll along the Corniche waterfront or sample local cuisine in a typical restaurant.
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Rabat, the nation’s capital. Here, you will visit its most emblematic places, such as the Kasbah of the Oudayas, with its charming blue streets. You will also see the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the historic Hassan Tower.
Next, the tour continues to Meknes, another of Morocco’s imperial cities. In Meknes, you will explore its historic ramparts and the majestic Bab Mansour Gate. Afterward, you will see the old royal warehouses. Finally, the day concludes as you arrive in Fes, the country’s oldest and most culturally rich city.
Today is entirely dedicated to discovering Fes el-Bali, the best-preserved medieval medina in the Arab world. To begin, a local guide will lead you through its labyrinthine streets. You will visit key sites like the University of Al-Qarawiyyin, considered the world’s oldest, and the Andalusian Mosque. In addition, you will explore the vibrant souks.
A major highlight is visiting the Chouara tanneries. Here, you can observe the traditional process of dyeing leather. For the afternoon, you have free time to explore further on your own or perhaps relax in a traditional hammam.
You will embark on a full-day excursion north into the Rif Massif. This mountainous region is known for its green landscapes and picturesque villages. The main destination, however, is Chefchaouen, the famous ‘Blue City,’ celebrated for its blue-washed walls and peaceful atmosphere.
Once there, you can wander around Uta el-Hammam Square or visit the Grand Mosque. For a stunning view, you can climb to the Spanish Mosque’s lookout point for panoramic photos. In the late afternoon, you will return to Fes.
Today involves an early departure for the Sahara Desert. The journey includes several interesting stops along the way. First, you will visit Ifrane, known as ‘the Switzerland of Morocco’ for its alpine architecture. Then, in Azrou, you will stop at the Cedar Forest, where you can see Barbary monkeys in the wild.
Subsequently, the trip continues to Erfoud, the gateway to the desert. The area is famous for its fossils and rocky landscapes. Finally, you will arrive in Merzouga, where the Erg Chebbi dunes begin. Here, you will switch to camels for a trek deep into the desert to reach your Berber camp for the night.
In the morning, you can enjoy a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you will have the special opportunity to visit with Berber nomadic families. During your visit, you will learn about their traditional lifestyle and share tea with them.
Later in the afternoon, you have the option to take a 4×4 ride through the desert. Alternatively, you can simply relax at the hotel or take another camel ride at sunset. You will spend the night in Merzouga.
Today’s journey begins in Rissani, the historic capital of the Alaouite dynasty, known for its vibrant market of dates and desert goods. From there, we proceed to the Todra Gorges, a dramatic canyon with sheer rock walls soaring up to 300 meters, offering a perfect setting for a short walk and photography.
Later, you will arrive in the Dades Valley, famously known as the ‘Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.’ The landscape of lush palm groves set against reddish mountain formations creates a truly spectacular vista. Your accommodation for the night will be in a traditional kasbah or hotel with views of the valley.
After breakfast, your first stop is the Skoura oasis, a verdant palm grove dotted with beautifully preserved kasbahs, including the renowned Kasbah Amridil. The journey then takes you across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest road pass, with plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the stunning mountain scenery.
