After meeting your guide in Tangier, your exciting journey begins. Our drive takes us through the majestic Rif Mountains, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, the afternoon is yours to explore this beautiful blue and white city at your own pace. You will spend the night in a local riad or hotel, immersing yourself in the city’s tranquil atmosphere.
This morning, we depart for Fes. Our route passes through numerous charming villages in the Rif Mountains. Our first stop is Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you’ll find the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. Afterwards, we head to the imperial city of Meknes to visit the famous Bab el-Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, our journey continues to Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad inside the medina.
Today you’ll explore Fes, Morocco’s oldest and most culturally rich city, with an expert local guide. Your tour will cover the city’s most important landmarks. We will visit the Royal Palace gate, the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the Al Karaouine University, the oldest in the region. You’ll also see the famous Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. Tonight, you’ll again stay in the medina, immersed in the city’s authentic atmosphere.
Our journey today crosses spectacular and varied landscapes. We’ll start by passing through Ifrane, a charming town known as ‘Little Switzerland.’ Our drive continues into the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll enjoy views of beautiful cedar forests, rugged cliffs, and picturesque Berber villages. We’ll then stop for lunch in Midelt, a town famous for its fossils and apples. This afternoon, we drive towards the Sahara, arriving in Merzouga in the evening. You will stay in a local hotel near the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes.
An early wake-up call from your camel guide ensures you witness a spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch as the shifting sands change color with the morning light. After this unforgettable moment, you will return to your riad in Merzouga for breakfast and a refreshing shower.
Our journey then continues towards the impressive Todra Gorges, passing through the towns of Rissani and Tinghir. These are the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the canyon, we will drive through the scenic Dades Valley. Here, you’ll see majestic “sand castles” and the curious rock formations known as “monkey fingers.” Your day concludes at a charming guesthouse where you’ll enjoy dinner and experience authentic Berber hospitality.
Our journey back to Marrakech begins after breakfast, taking us along the famous “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.” As we travel through the stunning Dades Valley, we’ll make our way to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco.” The day’s highlight is an exploration of the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO-protected fortress city and a stunning example of southern Moroccan earthen architecture.
From there, our route takes us back over the magnificent Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. As we descend from the dramatic mountain landscapes, we will arrive in the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech, where we will check into your riad or hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, prepare to dive into the soul of Marrakech with a guided city tour. Your local expert will lead you through the city’s most iconic sites. These include the tranquil, cobalt-blue Majorelle Gardens, the landmark Koutoubia Tower, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the opulent Bahia Palace.
Following lunch near the electric atmosphere of Djemaa el-Fna square, you will plunge into the labyrinthine souks. This sensory maze is the perfect place to discover traditional handicrafts and find unique souvenirs. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore Marrakech’s hidden corners at your own pace.
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Marrakech. At the appropriate time, we will provide a seamless transfer to Marrakech-Menara Airport (RAK) for your flight home. You’ll leave with a tapestry of memories, from the imperial cities to the vast Sahara, concluding your incredible 8-day journey through Morocco.
