Our 8-day Moroccan odyssey begins with a departure from Marrakech, ascending into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. We’ll cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, pausing to absorb breathtaking panoramic views. Our journey continues to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah that has served as a backdrop for films like Gladiator. After lunch, we proceed through Ouarzazate and the fragrant Rose Valley, arriving in Boumalne Dades, our resting place for the evening.
After breakfast, we journey deeper into the heart of southern Morocco. Our path leads to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls carve a spectacular path through the mountains. Enjoy a walk to fully appreciate its immense scale before we continue towards the desert. Arriving in Merzouga, your camel caravan awaits to carry you across the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. Witness a breathtaking Saharan sunset before settling into your desert camp for a magical night of traditional Berber music beneath a brilliant canopy of stars.
An early wake-up is rewarded with a magnificent desert sunrise painting the dunes in incredible colors. After breakfast, our journey north begins, tracing the path of the Ziz Valley, a stunning oasis of palm groves. We then ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, pausing for lunch in Midelt. As we travel through the ancient cedar forests near Azrou, we’ll watch for the playful Barbary apes that call this region home. Passing through the alpine town of Ifrane, our day concludes in the legendary imperial city of Fes, where you’ll check into a traditional riad.
From the ancient history of Fes, we head north into the picturesque Rif Mountains. Our destination is Chefchaouen, the enchanting ‘Blue Pearl’ of Morocco. Winding through beautiful green landscapes and traditional villages, we’ll arrive in the afternoon and check into your riad. The rest of the day is yours to get lost in its spellbinding, blue-washed medina, where every corner reveals a new photo opportunity.
Enjoy a final breakfast in the Blue City before we depart for the coast. Today, we trade the blue alleys of Chefchaouen for the ‘White Dove’ of Tetouan, a city known for its beautiful Hispano-Moorish architecture and UNESCO-listed medina. Our final destination is Tangier, the mythical gateway where Africa and Europe meet across the Strait of Gibraltar. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to begin exploring this historic and culturally rich port city.
This morning, we trace the Atlantic coastline south to the artistic seaside town of Asilah. This charming port is famous for its well-preserved, white-washed medina, where vibrant murals adorn the walls, turning the city into an open-air gallery. Explore its historic ramparts and soak in the tranquil, creative atmosphere before checking into your accommodation for the evening.
Our coastal drive continues south to Morocco’s political capital, Rabat. Upon arrival, a guided tour will introduce you to the city’s key landmarks. We will visit the iconic Hassan Tower, the grand minaret of an unfinished 12th-century mosque, and the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V. This exploration showcases Rabat’s unique blend of rich Islamic history and modern French-colonial design before you settle into your hotel for the night.
Our final morning takes us down the coast to Casablanca. Here, we will visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest, overlooking the Atlantic. You’ll have time to admire its grand scale and stunning architecture from the exterior. Following this visit, your 8-day tour concludes with a transfer to your Casablanca hotel or the airport for your departure.
